This year translingua is not only proud to celebrate its 30th anniversary, but also a successfully completed interim audit, meaning it may retain its ÖNORM EN 15038 quality certifi-cation. translingua believes that not only the quality certifi-cation but also the regular interim audits are of paramount importance. This is of even greater importance at a time when the market is rapidly expanding and customers are faced with an overwhelming choice. A certification according to ÖNORM EN 15038 is a fantastic opportunity to stand out from the crowd with a quality certification, especially for language service providers.

translingua has been a certified business since April 2004, the ON 1200 norm according to which it was first certified now having been transformed into the currently valid ÖNORM EN 15038. This is a certification which translingua has now held since 2007 and which it may now display for a further two years thanks to the second successfully completed interim audit.

During the interim audit on 30 May 2011, Mag. Mohamed-Ali Ibrahim from LICS (Language Industry Certification System) was thorougly satisfied that translingua "continues to operate in an exemplary manner according to the accuracy criteria prescribed by the ÖNORM." As a part of the audit, the daily working process at translingua were examined in detail: Among the processes examined were a complete translation project from order acceptance, sending the job to a qualified translator through to delivery to the customer. The norm sets out clear guidelines to be followed when it comes to selecting a translator, proofreading the finished translation and adhering to formal specifications, especially in the area of project management.

"Preparation for the two-yearly audit equates to a consider-able investment", says Mag. Dr. Brigitte Meßner, managing director of translingua, "we are nevertheless convinced by the necessity of such an audit. It provides a constant moti-vation to improve internal processes and to examine com-mon procedures to decide their suitability for daily use. This means the customer is always able to enjoy the bene-fits, in this case even higher quality translations, which are un-doubtedly the product of procedures prescribed by the norm."
